Project Overview

Merthyr Bus Station is a new transport hub in the heart of Merthyr Tydfil, a perfect location for the newest additional to South Wales transportation network. Located next to the River Taff and just a 5 min walk from the Cyfarthfa Castle.

The £11m Interchange is new, modern and unique – represented in its eye catching roof structure modelled after the Brecon Beacons, and its provision of on-site electrical bus charging to allow the building to be future proofed for the needs of a rapidly updating and environmental conscious community.

A full suite of modern electrical public transport commodities have been installed – including a full Public Address system via interlinked display screens, stylish modern lighting and a integrated Access, Security and Fire safety systems.

The building also includes on-site office and security suites to facilitate the need for a working environment for all Merthyr Council Transportation staff;  including the data, power and security systems these would require.
